While labor unions represent workers in a wide array of industries, certain sectors have historically higher unionization rates in the US. These include: 
 
Public administration, encompassing federal, state, and local government workers.
 
Education and healthcare services, including teachers and healthcare professionals.
 
Utilities, covering workers in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
 
Transportation and Warehousing, including air and rail transportation, bus service, and urban transit. 
 
Several labor unions in the United States represent a substantial number of workers across various industries. While there are some variations in rankings and exact membership figures depending on the source and the year of data, some consistently appear among the largest: 
 
National Education Association (NEA): Represents public school employees, including teachers, support professionals, and other staff.
 
Service Employees International Union (SEIU): Represents workers in various sectors, including healthcare, public services, and property services.
 
American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME): Represents public employees across state, county, and municipal governments.
 
International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT): Represents truck drivers, warehouse workers, and other trades.
 
American Federation of Teachers (AFT): Focuses on teachers, other educators, and healthcare workers.
 
United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW): Primarily represents retail store and distribution employees.
 
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW): Represents electrical manufacturing workers and electric utility workers.
